Wipes=Trouble

Below are text messages I received while at work today.

Jeff: Mj disappeared upstairs for a little while. I called up and asked if she was in trouble, she said yeah...

Jeff: When I went upstairs she handed me an empty wipes container I didn't think much of it. Till I found the pile of wipes on the bed

At least she is honest?

I Like Diapers

MJ is picking up words so quickly these days, although some words are more discernible than others.

MJ was going into the bathroom. I asked if she wanted to be potty trained. She said no. Then I asked if she wanted to stop using diapers and she said "I like diapers." Works for me.

Train

Malorie has started to say "Choo Choo" and get excited when she thinks she hears a train. (Not entirely sure where this came from).  Tonight we dragged her to the mall and kept her out way to late when she was exhausted. So, as a reward she and I rode the mini train at the mall.

At first she seemed a little unsure to leave dad behind, but then she loved it! She was looking out all the windows and couldn't get enough. She would wave at anyone and everyone walking past.

Jeff followed us around the mall, Malorie would get so excited when we would turn a corner and there was Dad!

At one point we passed a woman sitting on a bench. Malorie gave her a huge wave, smile, and hi! That woman's face lit right up! Jeff heard her telling her husband about this cute little girl that waved at her. She then made sure to be ready and waiting to wave back at Malorie when we came back around, which then made Malorie super happy. It was such a sweet moment.

While we were waiting for the train we played in the kid area. Malorie was loving climbing all over and going down the slides. For whatever reason this place has super steep slides. This didn't stop our munchkin. She would get up on the slide and turn around and use her hands to slow herself down. Once she felt confident she would just sit down and go down like a big kid. She amazes me every day at what she can accomplish (when she isn't driving me up a wall.)

Zoo and Paint Day

Saturday we were busy! We went to the zoo and did some painting.

We all had lots of fun at the zoo, although at one point Malorie was more interested in the plastic penguin she won than the animals.

She was excited for the carousel until it started. Then not so happy. I inadvertently put her on the tallest and biggest animal on the carousel! I could barely reach to hold on to her, but we made it.
The second time we went with dad and things went a bit smoother.
She was asleep shortly after getting in the car!
When we got home, MJ went to bed and Jeff & I started working on painting. We have been in our home over a year, it was fun to personalize it a bit and add some color!! (Please excuse the mess!)
Traci came up and helped keep MJ occupied and helped with some painting.  I did the wall on the right and Jeff & Traci did the wall on the left. It was fun to spend time with Traci.
This last few months has been crazy. It was nice to have a day to be together as a family and to improve our home!

Happy Father's Day 2016

We started out the weekend in Orem, so that Jeff could go to the Temple with his dad and grandpa. We then spent the day hanging out with family and going to dinner.

Sunday, I let Jeff sleep in and I bathed Malorie and fed her breakfast. I made Jeff orange rolls... And in doing all this I didn't get ready and we were late for church. Whoops.

After church, Malorie went straight to sleep and Jeff followed not too much later! I started making dinner, but kept getting distracted. I turned on the oven, and several minutes after it preheated I realized I forgot to set the timer. Ten minutes later, I realized I didn't actually put the chicken in the oven. Whoops.

I eventually got dinner done and had built in extra time (knowing myself) and we didn't eat too late.

Marianne and her roommate came over for dinner and we enjoyed spending time.

We ended the night with some baby cuddles.

Happy Father's Day!
