Bountiful & Boeing - Our Newest Adventure

While Dave was in town, Jeff got offered a job at Boeing in Salt Lake! We were really hoping to find jobs in Seattle, but we are excited that he is working with Boeing! We spent a couple weeks in March trying to find housing up in Salt Lake or Davis County. We found a cute townhome/condo in Bountiful that we start renting on April 1st! We are sad to leave our friends and family in Utah Valley, but we will only be an hour away (not nearly as far as we had planned!)

We aren't sure how long we will be in Bountiful, but we are excited for this next step. I started packing the day we decided on a place! (Well.. maybe before!) We have loved living with Jeff's Grandpa, getting to know him and saving some money, but we are very excited for this next new adventure!

The second half of March has involved lots of packing so far and lots more to do! Our house is half boxes, half random stuff. We move into our new place on April 1st with just a few things, and then will move everything in April 5th. Once we get things all set up I will post pictures of our new place!

March 2014

This has been a crazy year so far, have I said that yet? March was yet another crazy month (and it is not even over yet!).

We started out the month going to the SLC Temple with Jeff's parents and Traci (his youngest sister). We went up in the morning and then went to lunch in the Joseph Smith Memorial building. It was a beautiful day and we met Elder Nelson in the temple!

The day before Traci went into the MTC, our good friend Charisse came to visit. Tim & Charisse moved to Georgia last fall for Tim to go to Georgia Tech for Grad school. Charisse came out in March to defend her thesis. The night before we got to have a girl's night. Which was so much fun! (I believe there is picture evidence, but I don't have it). The next day (the day Traci went into the MTC) Tim & Charisse came over to chat for a few minutes before Traci went in and Charisse had to defend. Tim surprised Charisse and came out to watch her defend! 

After we saw Tim & Charisse we went to lunch with Jeff's parents, Traci, and his Grandpa. We went to Magleby's Fresh & 180 Tacos (Traci wanted a few more before she went in!) Then we went to the Provo Temple to take pictures. Once it was time we drove over to the MTC and dropped her off. It was so strange to pull up with her in the car and a few minutes later off she went. We will miss her, but are so excited for her!!

A few days later, my brother David came for a visit. He had a conference in Park City and was able to come out a day early and leave a day late! He stayed with us Sunday and Friday nights. Sunday, we mostly spent the day catching up. I decided we all needed a little exercise so we drove him around campus to show him the changes and then took a walk along the path that goes along the south part of campus.

Friday, we went Wallaby's for lunch and Bajio for dinner with Dave. We went back to BYU, this time to go to the BYU bookstore. Dave found a cute shirt for Sabrina, but couldn't quite bring himself to pay bookstore prices for himself. Costco has had nice BYU polos for the last couple months so we went there, naturally they didn't have them this time! Other than that the boys spent some time playing video games and Dave & I stayed up late chatting. The next morning he left first thing to go visit some friends and go to the airport. We had some errands to run so it worked out nicely.

The Sunday after Dave left we had a free beautiful Sunday afternoon so we decided to take advantage. We went for a walk along the Provo river trail. We had fun feeding the ducks and Louie had fun making friends with the horses.

February 2014

February was another busy month for us. Jeff's little sister, Traci, went into the MTC in March so everyone came out for her farewell in February. It was great to get together with everyone. Lily (4) & Rory (2) enjoyed meeting their cousin for the first time. Lily has been wanting a cousin for a long time and was thrilled to finally meet her cousin (Sam)! I think she was a little disappointed when she realized they couldn't go play together, but she still enjoyed being around her and playing with her as much as she was allowed.

Traci did an excellent job with her talk and we enjoyed getting together with all the extended family after church. Beth decided to do a big Mexican dinner. It was a little crazy trying to make sure that we kept all the food stocked (there were a LOT of people), but it was fun.

Sadly, Jeff's Grandma passed away while everyone was here. She had been suffering from Alzheimer's for a long time, so while it was sad everyone was happy that she was released from her physical ailments. Jenna & the girls cancelled their flights and extended their trip and Jenna worked remotely. Daniel had to go back to work for meetings, but drove back in time for the viewing and funeral. The timing of Jenny's flights worked out well so she didn't have to change anything.

All Deah's (Jeff's Grandma) grandchildren were able to make it except three (two of which were on missions). There was a viewing at Berg Mortuary in Provo on Friday and then a funeral at Grandpa's ward in Provo on Saturday. The funeral was beautiful with two of Jeff's cousins singing and his aunts and uncles participating in various aspects. After the funeral, we went to the gravesite for the burial. Lily & Rory both did very well, although Lily didn't quite understand why we kept moving places and having more prayers. Jeff's aunts ward was kind enough to provide a luncheon after the grave side service.

The day of the funeral was also Jenny's 30th birthday. So, Traci & I went shopping the night before for some things to celebrate. The morning of Traci decorated the house for Jenny's birthday. Then that night we had a pinata and went to the Chocolate for dessert. The best part of the pinata was watching Lily try to hit it.I don't think it was exactly the way Jenny wanted to celebrate, but I am glad we were able to focus on her for at least part of the day. Although, Lily made sure that everyone at the funeral knew that it was Jenny's birthday. She was watching out for Jenny :).

Overall, it was a busy month, but it was fun to be able to spend time with Jeff's family.

January 2014

We started the year running and have not stopped since!

We got back from VA on January 2nd and I went back to work the next day. The joy's of being an accountant you can't take off too much time in January! Jeff's cousin got married on January 3rd. We timed our VA trip perfectly to get back just in time for Sydnee's wedding. Her reception was fun, I even got Jeff to dance with me! Jeff's sister ended up dancing with their Grandpa and he was awesome :)

We were able to go to the Temple a couple times in January. I believe we went to the Timp Temple & Provo Temple. The day we went to the Timp Temple it was so crowded! I guess we weren't the only ones with New Year's resolutions to go more often!

Jeff went to Utah lake a couple of times in January. It was pretty cool to see how the ice on the lake pushed up against the shore. I only have pictures from Jeff & Traci's visit. (There are pictures from Jeff & I's visit, but they are on Jeff's tablet.)

 In the middle of January, we went to the Auto Expo in Sandy. Jeff loves cars and we try to go every year. This year we went with the Pyne's. It was fun to see them and their kids! The kids quickly got bored, so Kimberlee and I took the kid's to explore Target while the boys looked at cars. 

After they were done looking at cars we went to Texas Roadhouse for lunch. (So good!)

After that, we stopped at my aunt & uncle's house to say hi. We hadn't seen them for awhile so it was nice to catch up.

I worked a lot in January so we tried to play hard on the weekends to make up for not seeing each other during the week.
